MARMOMACC & THE CITY 2016 curated by Laura de Stefano

Now at its fifth edition, Marmomacc & the City has become an event held in high regard by operators and the general public alike and has helped consolidate Veronafiere's involvement in the cultural life of the city.

As in past editions, the squares and architectural settings of Verona will be the stage scenario for an entire month as of 28 September to works and installations created thanks to the excellence of natural stone sector companies: the event consequently involves stone materials processed using futuristic technologies interacting with stones worked many centuries ago with rare skill by artisans and stonemasons. The intention is to demonstrate that such ancient materials are still very much up-to-date, appreciated and used even today by architects, landscapers and designers.

The exhibition will unwind around the streets and squares of the historic centre of Verona and each work will be accompanied by a brief description to help visitors gain a better understanding of the materials, companies and designers involved in the project.

The event, organized this year by architect Laura De Stefano, is made possible thanks to collaboration between Veronafiere, Verona City Council and the Order of Architects P.P.C of the Province of Verona.
